You take US-8 south out of Norway, Michigan and will see the sign for Piers Gorge just about 1/4 mile before the bridge across the river. Turn onto the gravel road and drive about 1/2 mile to the parking area.
This path leads into the forest and in just a few moments the only sounds you will hear are the river and your own breathing.
The path was first used by Native Americans to portage around the falls that plunge and roar through the gorge.
This may be the most beautiful spot on the Michigan/Wisconsin border. The Menominee River rips through this gorge producing a spectacular show that is easily accessible to nearly anyone.
This image is of the third waterfall and it only takes a few minutes to get there. You can easily spend a couple of hours trekking along the river.
