Ludington State Park The Queen of the State Parks has earned its title among visitors
for its vast abundance of
natural resources and never-ending activities including 5,300 acres
of scenic sand dunes, marshlands, hardwood forests, and nearly seven
miles of Lake Michigan
shoreline.
There are eight marked hiking trails winding through
the woods and over dunes. There are eight hiking trails and 16 miles
of cross-country ski trails.
The drive out to the Ludington State Park is worth the trip even
when the park is closed. During the winter months the snow
carves fantastic shapes through the dunes and the views of Lake
Michigan will take your breath away.
Snowshoe making classes are conducted in January, and guided
snowshoe hikes are offered throughout the winter.
