The
Brooks Nature Area is Marshall, Michigan's newest and largest park
encompassing nearly 200 acres of diverse natural habitat. The
nature area was originally part of a farmstead and was purchased to
create a light industrial park. Demonstrating the vision that
has helped this community thrive, the city designated the area
surrounding the Upper and Lower Brace Lake as a city Park.
The Brooks Nature Area is the largest park in Marshall and
includes native grasses, stands of hardwood trees and wetlands.
The wildlife in the park thrives as 88 acres have been restored as a
native prairie faithfully including the grasses and wildflowers that
were present on Michigan prairies in the past. |
Just a short drive from the Terrific Town of Marshall is the Brooks
Nature Area.
