M-22 Drive

Scenic OverlookThere are wonderful scenic drives all over Michigan but a few stand out because they are spectacular in all four seasons.  M-22 is one of these and is often overlooked as folks rush to the more famous destinations on the highways.  This beautiful 2 lane road runs along Lake Michigan with the best parts being from Onekema through historic Frankfort and on up to Empire.  There are lots of scenic turn outs and you pass through two different nature preserves.  You can drive this whole route on a couple of gallons of gas.
