Hidden Treasures Drive - Fenwick, Michigan
For a great afternoon by bike or auto, this little trek will take you through historic towns, past unexpected structures and introduce you to some of the best chicken prepared anywhere in the state of Michigan.
So, what can you expect to find near Fenwick, Michigan? Bucolic back roads take you through the Michigan countryside. From Fenwick to the northwest is Trufant, Pine Stump Capital of the world.
A bit north and east is the town of Edmore, Michigan. In Edmore you can visit the Old Fence Rider Museum, filled with Michigan artifacts collected by one man.
Just a few miles east is Elm Hall, home to the smallest Post Office in Michigan. Wander another 10 miles or so, south and east to Middleton. Right in the center of town is the Middleton Diner. Incredible chicken, hot, delicious and plenty of it. You can work that off by riding south and a bit west to Matherton where the Bottle Tower is still standing.
This trip is best taken with a Michigan Map at hand. These are tiny towns and back roads.
